Overview
What to know about Emergency Dentist
Dental emergencies are usually pain, swelling, trauma or bleeding that will not stop. Many private clinics in the UAE keep same-day slots for urgent cases, and some open late or at weekends. Always phone first to confirm they can see you.
Go straight to a hospital emergency department, or call 998 for an ambulance, if swelling is spreading to your eye or neck, you have difficulty breathing or swallowing, or there was a serious injury to the face or head.
A first emergency visit aims to relieve pain and control infection. The full repair, such as a root canal or crown, is often booked separately.

FAQ
Common questions
What should I do if a tooth is knocked out?
Hold it by the crown, not the root. Rinse briefly if dirty, try to place it back in the socket, or keep it in milk, and see a dentist within the hour if possible.
Can I go to a hospital for toothache?
Hospital emergency departments manage serious swelling, trauma and infection. For toothache alone, an emergency dental clinic is usually quicker and better equipped.
Does insurance cover emergency dental treatment?
Many UAE health plans, including some basic plans, cover emergency dental care to relieve pain or treat infection. Cosmetic or follow-up work is usually not covered under that benefit.
